Build with Policy Eagle
The Florida bills Policy Eagle tracks, as a read-only REST API and an MCP server your AI assistant can use. One API key works for both.
REST API
Search bills by session, chamber, number, title, stage, topic and recent movement. Read a bill and its full history. JSON, cursor pagination, OpenAPI 3.1.
MCP server
Let an assistant find sessions, search bills, and read bill details and actions, citing the same facts as the website.
What's included
- Florida regular sessions with published bill data, from 2023 on.
- Bills: number, title, summary, status, last action, topic categories, and a link to the Legislature's page.
- Each bill's actions: referrals, readings, votes taken and governor action, in order.
The data comes from the Florida Legislature's published records and refreshes when Policy Eagle's data pipeline runs, so it can lag the Legislature's site. Sponsors, legislators and roll-call votes are planned for a later version. The API is read-only: it can't change anything in your account.
Limits
- Up to 3 keys per account.
- 60 requests a minute and 10,000 a day, shared by all your keys. The daily window resets at midnight UTC.
- Pages of up to 50 bills. Every request counts, including MCP connection setup and tool listing.
Limits are counted across regions and are approximate near the boundary.
Privacy
To run the service, Policy Eagle keeps each key's name, first characters and dates, and logs each request's operation, status and timing. Our key provider, Unkey, records each key check and its rate-limit result. We don't keep your search terms or which bills you looked up, and we don't use API activity for advertising, profiling or model training. See the Privacy Policy.
